Answer: Jordan called Daisy a “vulgar girl.” Their relationship can be described as one that is close enough to tell each other the truth and joke without offending the other. They are close.

Question: What character is introduced that surprises Gatsby? Why is he surprised?

Answer: The character who surprised Gatsby was Daisy’s daughter, Pammy. We know that he was surprised because Nick said, “Afterward he kept looking at the child with surprise. I don’t think he ever believed she existed before.”
