Answer: The Kansas Nebraska Act was an 1854 bill that mandated popular sovereignty allowing settlers of a territory to decide whether slavery would be allowed whithin a new states border.

Question: Why was Kansas a focus more than any other territory?

Answer: Since organization as a territory in 1854, Kansas had been the focus of a national debate over the place of slavery that flared into 1861 shaped Kansas more than any other state in the union.

Question: Why were so many people willing to move to kansas?

Answer: Many people moved to Kansas and Nebraska to vote over slavery the people were so divided that they were willing to turn to violence for their cause.
